My latest song on Kendrick, Drake, Diddy, Stephen A. Smith, and other Black artists abusing their platforms

Working on a new song. Lyrics below. I’m very frustrated with the way Black celebrities from Drake & Kendrick Lamar to Stephen A. Smith and Jason Whitlock and so many others are using their platforms to tear each other down and degrade our communities. This song is a call for Black celebrities to use their platform for something better and constructive. Not sure what the name of the song would be but I’d love your thoughts on it! hashtag#hiphop

Shaq vs. Shannon, Stephen A. vs. Whitlock

DL vs Monique but no one’s laughin’ doc

Kat Williams vs everybody, it’s so silly

Sage Steele vs. Jemele (but not really)

Cardi B. vs. Nicki, Remy vs. Nicki

Seein’ all of this and I’m askin’ what the dealy?

Why am I the only one callin’ out this nonsense

It’s like tryin to Pusha T Rex up hill in an eclipse

…pardon the ellipsis, I’m at a loss for words

For why we use our platforms for a war of words

For why we tear each other down instead of buildin’ us up

For why we swear each other down instead of liftin’ us up

Now with K. Dot & Drake, we all takin’ a side

Social media ablaze, trolls here for the ride

While these rappers pick sides about which one is slayin’

They got so much to say but had no words for Megan

No words for Rihanna, Dee, and so many others

Got me really rethinking why we callin’ ’em brothers

And who’s advising Drake, who’s advising Lamar?

Who told ’em it was cool to bring the kids in this war?

Who told ’em to joke ’bout domestic violence and scars?

Who told ’em to put real kids’ names in their bars?

Y’all got a Pulitzer, y’all got Grammys galore

Yet this is what you choose to use your platform for?

Then you dis’ MJ & Prince in your stories

Two men whom for us are music royalty

Rather than dis’, you should learn from their conflict

’Cause any beef they had made them make better music

Kept family matters off mic cause they gave a damn

Tension was used to make better music for fans

Never really beefed on wax or tore each other down

MJ even named his kid Prince, now ain’t that profound?

And y’all show no respect, your ignorance astounds

Let the legends rest in peace and stop actin’ like clowns

We a global industry and you just showin’ the world

How Black on Black rhyme hurts Black boys and girls

Nobody wins when the family feuds, learn from Jay

Went on air and apologized for super ug-lay

Squashed his beef with Nas now they collaborate B

They don’t need to tear each other down just for money

When will hip-hop stand up for Black women?

When will we uplift Cassie and Diddy’s other victims?

Hope Diddy goes down the same road as R. Kelly no kiddin

When will hip-hop set a new standard for our children to live in?

Ancestors fought hard for the platforms you’re abusin’

Not to mention all the people that you’re really abusin’

For the next 50 years of hip-hop to be different

Rappers must treat women and kids with respect
